Camp Cairn derives its name from “cairns” that have been used for hundreds of years to mark a trail or path. These cairns represent a trail marker that guides one through uncertain times in life. At Camp Cairn, each camper has the opportunity to remember and celebrate his or her loved one and to connect with other children and students who have experienced loss.

Camp Cairn is focused on assisting children and teens as they grieve the loss of a parent or loved one. Campers will share their stories with other campers; they will learn that grief is a normal part of living; and they will learn and practice skills to manage their grief. With the assistance of the camp staff and trained counselors, campers will be assessed and will set individual goals for the three-day camp.
